Reconditioned Vintage Upright Grand Piano.
Here is one of those very rare turn of the 20th-century old upright pianos that is still a viable musical instrument. It received an extensive refurbish approximately thirty years ago. It was clearly restrung with new piano strings and over-sized tuning pins that are nice and tight, so it holds its tune well. The keys were professionally recovered with new keytops and they received new key bushings that enable proper alignment and spacing. The piano came to us in near sales-worthy condition so all we have done in the 88 Keys Piano Restoration shop is two incremental piano-tunings and some touch-up and revival of the mahogany finish of the cabinet. We will be happy to offer a two-year warranty with the piano and full trade-up value to another piano.
Classic Americana – hand built one-of-a-kind musical instrument.
The bass response of this upright is quite deep and robust. Striking the bass keys at fortissimo elicits an impressive booming response. The tenor is rich and interesting. The treble is strong, clear and bell-like. The tone quality is on the slightly mellow side and would compliment a wide range of music. It has a very nice duration of tone (sustain) and a wide dynamic range allowing the pianist to play emotively. The piano-action feels responsive and plays expressively. It has a nice feel and it’s a fun play.
The fine wood the piano is composed of is from trees that were seedlings prior to the Civil War.
Intricate hand-carved details indicate top-of-the-line piano model.
