Steinway & Sons vintage Model K 54″ Upright Piano
Searching for that special, vintage Steinway upright? Look no further…this beauty in exquisite oil-rubbed ribbon mahogany was manufactured in 1903 at the Steinway factory located in Long Island, New York. It was purchased in 1904 at the St. Louis World’s Fair by a Mr. Alexander Campbell Russell, a well-to-do Cattleman and 2nd cousin of Jenny Jerome a.k.a Lady Randolph Churchill, the mother of Sir Winston Churchill, no less. A real character, Mr. Russell eventually became state senator in Oklahoma – one famous story was when he protested there being too many potholes in Tulsa; he publicly dropped a fishing line into a rather large hole filled with rainwater and sat there on a roadside bench all dressed in a ten-gallon hat, 3-piece suit with gold watch & chain.
Anyway, this Steinway has been lovingly restored inside and out and sounds simply amazing. It has a rich, deep and warm sound. The original matching stool in mahogany is still with, also! Ya’ll gotta see this.
Offered for $12,450.
