Wheelock 5′ Baby Grand Piano in red mahogany.

This older grand piano was built in 1938 and was traded-in to us for a newer model.  It spent decades in a small-town New Mexican church and has a lot of positive energy.  It is happily acclimated to our unique high desert climate and is a stable musical instrument.  This Wheelock grand piano is 5’ in length so it would fit nicely in smaller spaces.  The factory held high standards for workmanship and constructed well-built pianos.  Its overall condition is pretty good for its age.  It is a functional instrument, tuned to concert pitch and holding.  The piano-action works well.  The tone is adequate if not pretty in some sections.  The mahogany cabinet has the amount of patina you would expect for a “working piano”.  It includes a matching bench that is possibly the original.  It would not be worth pouring a lot of money into a major refurbish or refinish.  It would make more sense to appreciate it for what it is – an older grand piano that still has quite a bit of life in it.  88 Keys Piano Warehouse & Showroom price – $2500.
