SOLD… American-made Yamaha 42″ Vertical Piano.

Designed for the experienced pianist and professional musician, the Yamaha vertical piano is the most popular and respected world-wide.  They feature outstanding tone, touch and durability, and they are a perennial favorite among discerning pianists.  They offer excellent musical performance, setting the standards by which many other pianos are measured.  Refined Yamaha scale-designs and components improve the tonal performance, while other modifications enhance strength and longevity.  The Yamaha model M203 console piano has an Italian Provincial furniture style in a dark walnut satin lacquer finish.  This is one of the last Yamaha verticals to sport a traditional American decorator-style cabinet.  More modern instruments are invariably finished in highly-reflective polyester resins and minimalist designs that are not as warm and sophisticated.

This instrument has been a permanent resident here in Albuquerque, so it is happily acclimated to our unique climate.  It was purchased new at Paul Muench Music, the original Yamaha piano dealership in Albuquerque.  Though the piano was built in 1974 it has a modest amount of wear.  The overall condition is excellent; structurally and aesthetically.  We provided a thorough action regulation and multiple tunings for stability.  Given Yamaha’s well-earned reputation for maintenance-free durability, this piano should provide decades of enjoyment and musical fulfillment.  88 Keys Piano Warehouse & Showroom price – $2450.

In 1973, Yamaha acquired the Everett Piano Company in the port city of South Haven, Michigan (sometimes called the Catskills of the mid-west).  World War-11 was still a vivid memory.  There was certainly a bias against Japanese products so Yamaha wanted a United States presence and the ability to build an American-made piano.  This factory was a good fit due to its location in ”Furniture Country”, a region known for its timber logging and mills, diversity of tree species and experienced woodworking craftsmen.  And Everett was already building a highly thought of piano.  Their studio upright models had been especially popular for years in Institutions.  The Yamaha model M203 console piano was built in this factory so it is proudly Made in the USA!
